Twas the Night Before Heath Care

Twas the Night Before Heath Care

Twas the night before health care and all through the Senate
Harry Reid and Pelosi would decide who would benefit
The Earmarks were strung with treasonous care
While the Country collapsed, not a job anywhere

My Countrymen worried, not snug in their beds
About the bleak future ahead for their kids
Fathers and Mothers alarmed by Trade Gaps
While deaf Senators whined about carbon caps

On did they move, in the deep, dark, dead night
Behind closed tight doors, far from any daylight
Hiding behind sound bites like ‘the Party of No’
While pushing our Freedom Off the Cliffs of their Egos

They still do not get it, they don’t understand
This great country was built by independent men
Nathan Hale once said He had but 1 regret
But these people and policies he never met

Their Chicago majority, while creating this mess
Regrets that one wallet does each of us possess
In the face of constituents talking of TEA
All they could thing of was Me, Me, Me, Me

Enough of this nonsense, It is making us curse
Say no to new programs and fix old ones first
We’re done with your telling us that you know better
Start following our Constitution, right down to the letter

Like Reagan and Kennedy we are not the extremists
And we surely know what the American dream is
That dream doesn’t tell us “the debate is now over”
And doesn’t give Citizens the ‘national cold shoulder’

A warning to Washington, you are now on the Brink
How dare you stare down ‘We the People’, I think
You have forgotten the truths we hold dear
We are all watching, into the New Year

We know what you’re doing, we know who you are
We’ve watched you appoint Czar after Czar
And we’ve had enough of this socialist pratter
Get your hands off our Freedoms, that’s what matters
