Americans for Prosperity Brings “Sick of Spending” Tour to Wisconsin, Targets Senator Julie Lassa

MILWAUKEE- The Wisconsin Chapter of Americans for Prosperity will travel the state on its “Sick of Spending” Tour this Saturday, June 19, to ask taxpayers to call Senator Julie Lassa and urge her not to support Big Government out-of-control spending policies.
“Julie Lassa has to know she’s going to be held accountable for her votes,” said Mark Block, State Director of Americans for Prosperity. “Wisconsin’s economy simply cannot afford to pass more job killing tax-hiking legislation. Voters know that the November election is fast approaching, and they will hold Lassa accountable this election season. They will not support those who have a record of raising taxes, enlarging government, or supporting policies that will damage our economy. The voters are much more aware of the issues this year and they will certainly remember her votes this November.”
Senator Lassa has voted in lock-step with Washington Democrats to pass legislation resulting in skyrocketing costs to taxpayers including hundreds of billions in corporate bailouts, $1.2 trillion in government-run health care, and over $800 billion on cap & trade policies.
The tour will stop in Stevens Point, Marshfield, and Wisconsin Rapids on Saturday, June 19th. The AFP mascot, “Ten Pence the Pig,” a 10-foot-tall mobile statue, will be traveling to the county court houses and city halls in these towns to emphasize the failed policies in Washington, D.C. that are affecting taxpayers right here in Wisconsin.
Additionally, AFP activists will go door-to-door visiting the residents of Merrill, Tomahawk, and Antigo to educate citizens about Senator Lassa’s big government voting record and to encourage them to stand up for fiscal responsibility and against the big spending culture in Washington.
